Venue art planner

How much art does the space need?

Answer four questions and get a print count, a size mix by wall, the number of bundles, and a budget range that includes off-the-shelf framing. Built from the same placement rules our guide uses.

How the planner counts

Public rooms get one anchor wall plus one print per 150 to 300 square feet depending on how close people sit to the walls. Spaces made of repeated rooms, like hotels, rentals, clinics and salons, get one print per room plus the shared areas. Size follows wall width and viewing distance: the standard 16×20 within arm's reach and across a table, in pairs and trios on wider walls, and larger sizes, which come through a quote, across a room or in a lobby. Framing is estimated from typical US retail ranges for off-the-shelf 4:5 frames, which the 16×20 size fits; your framer may land outside the range.

The planning guide explains the rules in full, and each venue page applies them to a kind of space.
